This week, I was sitting in a meeting discussing one of Clorox’s bathroom cleaners.  Yes, I know, in any place other than the Clorox building, this would be a serious conversation killer.

But during our discussion, I discovered that a lot of us have strange cleaning idiosyncracies. How can we not when, love it or hate it, cleaning is part of our weekly (or, ok in some cases, monthly) lives?

Here are some quirky behaviors I heard that my colleagues themselves admitted:

• Nothing gets my kitchen cleaner than salsa music.  When I clean my kitchen, I just have to put it on. The rhythm just gets me moving!


• I have a housecleaner who comes every 2 weeks, but the night before, I run around tidying up my whole house—putting toys away, arranging the kitchen.  My husband thinks I’m crazy for cleaning right before the professional comes, but I feel I need to get the clutter out of the way so I’m not totally embarrassed!


• I have a separate sponge for every task… and it’s all color-coded– yellow one for my dishes, blue one for my kitchen counter, pink for my kitchen table…don’t even get me started on all the different sponges I have for cleaning the rest of the house!
