Tiffany, Clorox

Hi! I'm Tiffany. When I'm not chasing my son around for diaper changes, convincing my daughter not to wear goggles to bed, or trying to get unidentified stains out of my kids' clothes, I work in the marketing department at Clorox.

More Clorox Bleach Uses Inspired by YOU

We did it! It's been a week since our Clorox® Bleach Challenge, and I think it’s safe to say that we all pretty much nailed it: 7 days. 7 uses. Whoot!

Thanks to everyone who played along at home and commented on this blog with uses of their own. Inspired by your many ideas, I wanted to share some more uses for our good friend, Clorox® Regular-Bleach.

1. Remove Odors From Your Sink

Leah uses bleach to remove odors from her bathroom sink. Smart woman! Who knows what nasty stuff lingers in there?

To deodorize drains, flush with water. Pour 1 cup Clorox® Regular-Bleach into the drain, then flush with hot water. Easy!

2. Clean Outdoor Surfaces

Getting into the Halloween spirit, Jennifer used bleach to clean her patio table after pumpkin carving. (Why are some of the most fun activities the messiest?!) I loved Jennifer’s idea to perform the pumpkin surgery outside. Did you know Clorox® actually carries a specific product to clean outdoor surfaces? Yep, it’s called Clorox® Outdoor Bleach Cleaner. (No one can argue that it’s a hard product name to remember, right?)

To use it, simply dilute Clorox® Outdoor Bleach Cleaner with water in a bucket, brush or mop down the outdoor surface (it can even be your driveway!), and then grab your garden hose and spray it down!

Voila … patio table (and pumpkin guts) clean!

3. Sanitize Sippy Cups

Thanks to Jada for sharing that she cleaned her sippy cups with bleach. In fact, Clorox® Regular-Bleach is more effective than soap and water on a toddler’s cup. After all, who knows where half the germs in those little sippy cups has come from, right?

To sanitize sippy cups and baby bottles, just prewash the items as you normally would, then add 1 Tbsp of Clorox® Regular Bleach per gallon of water. Soak it for 2 minutes (I like to just create a bleach bath in my kitchen sink) and then let it drain till it’s dry. There — simple, quick and WAY easier than getting your baby to give up the bottle!

4. Mop Away

Mike, Katina, Melissa, Crystal and Aneta use bleach to mop their floors. And this is good thinking, especially as cold and flu season is upon us. Gotta minimize those germs.

To clean, disinfect and deodorize your floors (which you’ve tested for bleachability, of course!), simply use a disinfecting solution of ¾ cup Clorox® Regular-Bleach per 1 gallon of water. Let it stand 5 minutes. Then rinse it thoroughly before letting it air-dry.

So there you have it. Clorox® Regular-Bleach: the original multitasker.

Thanks again to all of you for your comments during the 7-Day Clorox® Bleach Challenge. It felt so great to have your support and hear your ideas. Please keep your thoughts and observations coming on the blog. I really love hearing from you, and the wealth of knowledge, ideas and good humor out there is amazing. Happy cleaning!
