Tiffany, Clorox

Hi! I'm Tiffany. When I'm not chasing my son around for diaper changes, convincing my daughter not to wear goggles to bed, or trying to get unidentified stains out of my kids' clothes, I work in the marketing department at Clorox.

Day 7: Victory?

So this is it. Day 7 of the 7-Day Clorox® Bleach Challenge. I think I smell victory! Or wait, is that the funky odor from the bottom of my travel mug?

Today, I decided to go to my office for inspiration. What is the first thing I reach for in the morning when I’m at my desk? My insulated travel mug. This mug stays by my side all day, as I go from meeting to meeting, caffeinating me as I go.

But this mug isn’t exactly as clean as it should be. Admittedly, it isn’t unusual for my mug to sit overnight on my desk without the coffee being washed out of it. Yes, I know it’s gross and that there is probably a lot of nasty bacteria brewing right alongside my coffee.

So after work today, I packed up my insulated mug and toted it home. I prewashed it, and then I mixed 1 Tbsp Clorox® Regular Bleach into 1 gallon of water and let the solution sit in the mug for 2 minutes. I tossed it into my drying rack and air-dried it for tomorrow. I’ll have a decaf low-fat latte please. Hold the bacteria.

So we did it folks! We used Clorox® Bleach for 7 days in 7 different ways, and we didn’t even whiten our whites. If you’ve been playing along at home, I’d love to hear what uses you had for bleach! Just share your comment below and a commenter will be randomly selected to win a $100 Visa gift card. Think of all the bleach you can buy with that!

No Purchase Necessary. Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and DC who are at least 18 years of age at the time of entry. Void where prohibited. http://www.clorox.com/legal/promotions/ for full rules. Contest starts 10/20/11 & ends 11/2/11.

I use Clorox to clean my mugs, laundry, to kill the mold on the exterior of the house & also in my pool during the summer.

I used a little Clorox in my dishwasher load to seriously disinfect dishes and the dishwasher interior. I'm also going to use Clorox to disinfect planters that I am emptying out for the winter. That way, in Spring, they'll be ready for replanting.

I used Clorox bleach today to pour alittle down each drain in the house to freshen it up. Let it set for awhile then run cold water. Smells great.

I primarily use Clorox all over the kitchen (bacteria is my worst nightmare) but I've also found some nontraditional uses for it. I use a drop of it a vase full of water because I've heard plants last longer that way! Of course the bleach is also great in the laundry!

Great idea for the travel mugs - I'll have to try it. Also, never thought about using Clorox for the red stains from red sauce in the plastic containers - thanks for the great ideas!

Great idea! I can tackle my husband's water jug that he's never without. I also like reading everyone else's tips. Thanks everyone!

I had to remove mold that was growing on the bottom of skidproof bathmats in the shower with clorox today. I try to do it at least once a month.
