Welcome In!

When I’m not chasing my son around for diaper changes, convincing my daughter not to wear goggles to bed, or trying to get unidentified stains out of my kids’ clothes, I work in the marketing department at Clorox.
I’m writing this blog because when I became a Mom, I was amazed by how much I valued exchanging stories with other mommies. For me, those moments include transitioning from “Wife” to “Mother”, struggling for work/life balance, and celebrating my children’s milestones (He rolled over in the opposite direction today! I’m pretty sure that makes him a genius.)
I also want to give you a peek under the tent at the zany stuff that I’ve seen at Clorox. Did you know that our Tech Center actually painstakingly “bakes” food stains into clothes to test our Clorox 2 laundry products? When I heard that, I was ready to ship all my son’s clothes over to the lab to help ‘em out! And ever wonder what it’s like to sell, of all products, toilet products? Been there, done that. Yup, not only was I dealing with potties at home, I was dealing with them at work as well. Gotta love it!
You’ll hear a lot about my kids who are both the light of my world and source of grey hairs: Elle, my 4 year-old daughter and Max, my 2-year old son.
I love being a Mom (though try not to let it define me), I love working at Clorox (though strive to balance work with good parenting) and I love sharing stories with other Moms.
And I’d love to hear back from you. We all have stories. After all, storytelling is in our mommy DNA. I hope our stories will somehow make us all happier and saner mommies, for our families and ourselves! Welcome in!

Your comment made me laugh, Jonathan! Ah yes, the ol' "should she wear goggles to bed" question! It's a slippery slope...today it's goggles to bed, tomorrow it's flippers and by the end of the week, she's wearing a full scuba suit to bed!

Great blog, Tiffany! I appreciate your perspective, especially since I'm not a parent myself. I find it hard to believe, for example, that high-school seniors don't know how to do their own laundry, but when I think back, I don't remember doing the laundry myself at that age. I do remember washing all my clothes by hand for a year while I lived in West Africa, however. That sure made me appreciate the convenience of a washing machine. One question, though. I can't figure out what is wrong with wearing goggles to bed. I've considered it myself to ensure that the cat doesn't "accidentally" scratch my eyes out. Would your daughter's eyes dry out or something awful if she wore them? Please let me know.

Wow, 4 young males…Kudos to you for keeping up with all that laundry! It's definitely tricky staying on top of washing whites. (I often wish they made bibs/smocks for older kids & adults, too!) For laundry help, I go to http://www.drlaundryblog.com/. Hope you’ll find it helpful. Good luck and thanks for writing!

I think you (as a company) are misleading the consumers in your stain booster comercials. You show the detergent taking away the stains after they are made, not after they have dried. Dried stains are alot harder to take out than fresh ones. Just wanted to give my 2 cents about this. Derick
