Hi! I'm Tiffany. When I'm not chasing my son around for diaper changes, convincing my daughter not to wear goggles to bed, or trying to get unidentified stains out of my kids' clothes, I work in the marketing department at Clorox.

What’s Your Cleaning Confession?

We all have dirty little secrets when it comes to cleaning, because let’s face it, as a mom, it’s hard to keep a perfect house without some trade-offs. Here are a few of mine. What are yours? Share your confession below for a chance to win a $100 gift card.
1) I sometimes clean up after my kids because it’s easier than getting them to clean up after themselves.
As much as I’d love to take every opportunity to teach my kids to clean up after themselves, I admit that sometimes it’s just less stressful to pick up after them than to undergo the painstaking process of convincing them to clean up their own messes. As I type this, my living room floor is littered with wooden trains because tonight I preferred to get my preschooler in bed rather than face the 20-minute challenge of convincing my son that Thomas and Gordon didn't want to go for another race around the track.
2) I find weird stuff in my washing machine.
I know I’m supposed to diligently check and empty pockets before items go into the washer, but either it’s really hard to do laundry with a preschooler affixed to one’s leg, or I’m just not a laundry expert As a result, I have found some strange things in my washing machine. Tissue wads and coins are pretty typical for many. But once I also found an entire diaper (clean as a whistle, I might add!), which was clearly tossed into the hamper along with the dirty sweatpants it resided in. It was also clear evidence that I do not sort laundry thoroughly enough. I’ve also found soggy stickers, plastic toys from local fast food chains and too many rocks to count. Some days it’s like my washing machine is where random objects go to die.
3) I’ve been known to “short cut” when company comes.
Instead of cleaning the bathroom, I just scrub the faucets till they shine because hey, a shiny faucet makes it seem like the rest of my bathroom is clean, right? I also make sure the toilet isn’t covered with any potty training mishaps because we all know that a dirty toilet is the most “guest-noticeable” gross-out in a bathroom. And who needs a dead giveaway that you didn’t painstakingly clean up the place before they arrived?

I skip cleaning the bedrooms when company is coming over to save time, just cleaning the living areas instead.

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine just how filthy a kid's highchair can get! I'm not talking about the tray part of it. How does a child manage to get food and grime on places he can't even see or reach -- the back, the sides, underneath, and all up and down the legs -- while he's sitting there, buckled in with the tray locked in place? Luckily, I am always stocked up on Clorox wipes and they work great! Still, every once in a while I feel the need to drag the thing outside and spray it down with some Clorox Clean-Up before turning the hose on it.

I confess that I pretend to be playing a game with the kids in order to get them to clean up more of the mess than me. My oldest thinks it wonderful to get to put on the purple gloves and whip out the cleaning wipes to wipe down the table and counter tops. My middle child loves to play 'what can the vacuum eat'. What can I say? I do not like cleaning, I'm just glad my kids do!

I'm an old school Mom, so even though my kids are young adults, they still require mommies touch when it comes to there rooms. So, when they leave the house, I sneak into there rooms and gather all the dirty clothes, vaccuum there rooms, and let the fresh air in. To really freshing the room, after I open the window, place a dryer sheet in the window and close the door. The dryer sheet really makes the room smell fresh..

When we travel, I have to admit that I do not sort by color when I do laundry at a motel. I simply toss the blacks in with the whites and wash, so that I only have to do one load to get us through the end of the trip.

I dread mops so I manufactured my own mop out of white towels. Clorox bleach cleans, disinfects and also gives a longer life to my towels.

I use bleach in our outdoor pond to keep the algae from growing & the water sparkling clean

I admit, I am no June Cleaver. On days when I feel like cuddling up on the couch with my laptop in front of the TV, not much else gets done. So when I get a phone call from a friend that decides to stop by or 30 minutes before my hubby comes home I jump up and tear through the house like a whirl wind. After throwing toys in the toy box, hiding the dirty dishes in the dishwasher and a quick once over with the vacuum I spray a little Clorox Cleanup on a towel and wipe down the kitchen counters. When they walk in the door and comment on how clean it is I just smile and hope they don't need to use the bathroom. :)

I sometimes throw away dishes that are too foul to clean quickly, then I throw a fit a blame people for the missing items :P

I love my Clorox Wipes. I use them for all the regular kitchen and bathroom surface cleanings, but my secret use is to wipe off all my containers of other cleaning products that have gotten yucky from the store shelves. I also wipe the cabinet shelves and line the products up for picture perfect storage. I should have an organization business!
