It might not be the first thing on your mind when you pick up a jug of Clorox Liquid Bleach or Clorox Clean-Up, to say, “I wonder what the Clorox ingredients are?” But have you ever taken a moment to wonder what’s inside your cleaning product?

Well, I have to give Clorox some props on this one because on its mission to inform folks about what's in its bottles, the company started disclosing information on Clorox ingredients for their products through its “Ingredients Inside” program. The point of program is to give folks like us all the info we need about the use and safety of Clorox products so we can make informed choices about what we buy. 

As a Mother of Two…

Now not to be cheesy, but as an employee, I’ve always been proud to work at Clorox because it’s a company where “do the right thing” has always been a core value. But as a concerned mom of two who wants to know what’s inside the products I use in and around my home, I like knowing that this information is so readily available. (I recently learned that Clorox was the first major consumer packaged goods company to launch such a transparent ingredient communications program in North America.)

Clorox Ingredients at the tip of Your Fingers

Well the new news this week is that Clorox is taking its “Ingredients Inside” program mobile!

Yep, you may have to force your kid to give up Angry Birds and hand you back your iPhone because with the “Ingredients Inside” mobile app, you can use your smartphone to scan a Clorox product UPC code while you’re standing right in the shopping aisle. When you scan the product’s barcode, you’re taken instantly to that product’s ingredient listing. The app not only lists the ingredients but also offers an explanation of what the ingredient is and does - so you’re not stuck trying to recall your 10^th grade chemistry class to figure out what “hydrogen peroxide” is.
