As a Joint Venture Company founded by II-VI Inc., USA and L.O.T.-Oriel GmbH in July 2002, II-VI LOT GmbH - with more than 20 years of experience – is the leading company on the high-power optics for industrial CO2- and YAG-Lasers.
With high power optics it is not enough to be only “good” because with these state-of-the-art optics for industrial lasers the physical limitations become very critical. Multi-kW-beam power of industrial laser systems are standard with YAG- as well as with CO2-lasers nowadays.
In laser scanning systems used in industry for marking, writing, removing, drilling, etc., F-Theta-lenses and –systems as well as reflectors and beam expander of II-VI Inc. are used. The required accuracy is guaranteed by CAD/CAM and optical ray-tracing pro-grams. II-VI LOT GmbH provides the optics, the logistics and… many years of working experience.
The production of ultra-precision laser optics at II-VI Inc., USA, has tradition. Since 1970 optical components are developed here, laser- and optical substrates are produced, opti-cal coatings developed and optimised. Under industrial conditions – as it is common in industrial semiconductor development – Zinkselenide (ZnSe), Zinksulfide (ZnS), Cadmiumtelluride (CdTe), Yttrium-Aluminium-Granat (YAG), Siliciumcarbide (SiC) and other laser-optical materials are produced. Highly accurate measuring techniques are used with quality control and quality insurance.
Metal optics (with sometimes very complex surface geometry) are currently produced with highest precision and at most accuracy (fractions of micrometers), using computerised diamond turning machines.
