PhotonicNetPhotonicNet GmbH was founded in December 2000 and is the representative for the 'PhotonicNet' network which incorporates 57 companies and institutions in the Hanover/Göttingen area.
PhotonicNet is one of seven German competence networks which emerged victorious from the OptecNet competition launched by the German Ministry for Education and Research in July 2000.
It considers itself to be a starting point for interdisciplinary co-operations in the opto-technological field. Thus, the main objective of PhotonicNet is to push the development and application of optics as well as demand-oriented training and education possibilities. Accordingly, PhotonicNet focuses on the following fields of activity:
* innovation and knowledge management,
* start-up coaching,
* training and education as well as
* marketing and communications
