When boiling off water for 1 minute is not practical, disinfect water by using the following method:
1. Remove suspended particles by filtering or letting particles settle to the bottom.
2. Pour clear water into a clean container.
3. Add 8 drops of Clorox® Regular-Bleach to 1 gallon of water (2 drops to 1 quart). For cloudy water, use 16 drops per gallon of water (4 drops to 1 quart).
4. Let treated water to stand for 30 minutes, until water has a slight bleach odor. If it doesn't, repeat and wait another 15 minutes. The treated water can then be made palatable by pouring it between clean containers several times.

We’ve done a great deal of research to ensure we are meeting consumer’s needs. In the Clorox® Regular-Bleach₁, concentrated, the new Clorox® Bleach bottle will be easier to handle and easier to use in high-efficiency washing machines, which have built-in bleach dispensers. In addition, the concentrated formula will provide improved whitening on clothes and be able to kill viruses like norovirus on hard surfaces. And because the size of the bottle will be smaller, we can significantly reduce the amount of water used in bleach and the amount of packaging used, which is better for the environment.
