There has been an increasing interest, in recent years, in nonlinear optical properties of materials with particular attention at the nanoscale photonics  and for many different applications from the  information technology to biosensing applications . The scope of the workshop is to discuss about concept, methods, applications and the state of the art of the most recent trends in nonlinear optics and in particular at the  nanoscale.

The 4th Asian and Pacific Rim Symposium of Biophotonics (APBP) will be held in Jeju, Korea, from 25 - 27 May, 2009.

The 2009 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS 2009) will be held at the Omni Hotel, San Diego, CA, on 18 - 22 January 2009 as part of the Radio Wireless Week technical event. In addition to oral presentations and posters, RWS 2009 includes workshops, panels, and an exhibition. Others collocating in the event are the Topical Meeting on Silicon Monolithic Integrated Circuits in RF Systems (SiRF)
and the IEEE Topical Workshop on Power Amplifiers for Wireless Communications (PA Symposium).

As co-chair of the  “Student paper award” , I would like your encourage young researchers to propose a paper at the IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS 2009) that will be held in San Diego, CA, on 16 – 23 January 2009 as part of the Radio Wireless Week technical event.

Such materials have fascinating optical properties both from a fundamental point of view and with regard to future applications in photonic devices and materials. Current trends point toward a gauge shrinkage to reach the molecular scale making the molecule the yardstick.

Information photonics is an emerging field that includes state-of-the-art methods, devices, models, and applications related to the utilization of optics in information society. The objective of this meeting is to bring together international scientists, researchers, engineers and students to discuss recent developments in the field of information photonics.
